| Browsed some woods by house on Sunday. Lots of fresh rubs and Scrapes. Sat the other day only saw one doe which is bad for my area. Think they are resting up for weekd to come. Might go out tomorrow. | |

| well it was a heck of a day. it started out horrible. me and scott went out for some ducks in the am and saw a total of like 6 birds. nothing close at all. so tonight we decided to hit up some property in flemington. well ill climb in my stand and while im pulling up my bow i notice 2 deer already in the field. i thought to myself that itsa going to be a goodnight out. and that it was . i had a blast in the tree. i think there was about 15 minutes the whole night where i didnt see deer. the best was i called a pretty big 3 pointer in wich was fun watching him grunt everywhere looking to where the sound came from. finally i got bored playing with him and he moved out to the field. the the chase was n. he ran every doe out of the field. then a bigger buck chased him away. then he came back and so on and so on. it was fun to watch this guy try to get on all these does. i was happy to let him walk when he was about 10 yrds under me,untill finally a big doe and 2 small ones are coming right for me. i grabbed the bow and thought she is big, shes the one that i want on my wall. well 35 yrds out i see she has a double throat patch wich is a def. plus for me. i kept saying come on baby cross the creek. well next thing u know i hear burp. that damn three pointer again scared them all off. man i should of shot that damn thing, but i was there to take one particular buck that needs to be taked out of the gene pool or a big doe. i didnt suceeed with a kill but sometimes the hunt is just as fun as actually the harvest itself. i cant wait till saturday morning. i will be in same stand. | |

| I went out the 27th in the afternoon. No deer but there is now a rub on a 12 in diameter cedar tree 12 yard from my stand. And 2 new larger bucks on the trail cam. Maybe there is hope after all. | |

| Great job Steve. I headed out this morning for Ducks but had no luck. Things have been very quite. I saw two woodies flying way out in the distance but nothing else. On the way home I did notice ducks by the Cheesequake-Redbank rest stop (parkway) in the inlet so hopefully it only a matter of time. Hopefully period two will turn up the heat.. | |

| After watching a quarter and a half of the Giants being put in there place, I decided to hit the woods instead of watching any more of that torture. It was a little breezy but I felt like it was gonna be a good afternoon. After a few hours of squirrels, I began to wonder if I was doing something wrong this season. Even though I am hunting a new area I had expected to see something by now. Just before dark, I saw a buck coming through the brush. Just as he was about to step out, A squirrel below me gave away my location and the buck spotted me, and unsurely turned and walked away. I figured that would be it and as I was about to start packing it in, another bigger buck came from the opposite direction, but still covered by brush. I never got a shot, but I can't wait to get back out there and move my stand over about 40-50 yards. Only problem is now I have vacation to New Orleans coming this week, so it will be at least a week before I can get back out. There are worse problems to have I guess. Keep you posted | |
