Double Lunger Checking In !

OK guys been a while here but have not forgottin you guys! Sorry Steve that night you shot me a Text my head was hurting so bad ben meaning to text or call you back.

This is my first season filming with Outdoors Addiction and it really puts a curve on your hunting. You have to add at least 15 minutes to set up time and brake down time. Make sure not only your shooting lanes are clear but also your filming lanes.

Now Matt and I have been taking turns hunting and filming so my hunting time is cut in half. We have a couple decent bucks on camera but no real slammers as of yet. I have a great 8 pointer lined up for Haley ( my 10 year old ) for youth day. I have been on him three times and had shots all three times. Just need him to show this Saturday !

Now for a bad hunt. We checked a camera and seen this picture below from the night before. Story below picture !




Now I decided I want to go after this buck. Matt agrees to video for me the next morning. We head to my house and scout the woods behind my house. Not much going on. So I show him the video of Haleys target buck when we are done.

The next morning we meet up at the farm and head out to hunt. Once we are all set up he askes me if I have another battery. I tell him yeah but it is home and that is a 8 hour battery we have plenty. He then tells me I left the camera on VCR mode when I showed him the video. I was ticked to say the least. We sit there for a minute and I tell him to just go hit another stand no reason for him to miss a morning hunt if we are not filming.

Around 9 AM I get a text from my wife saying she has to take Haley to the Doc for a sore throat at 11 AM. I tell her I will get out of the stand at 10AM and be home to watch Angelina. Well at 9:30 I have not seen a deer since first light so I say the heck with it and start packing it up. I get the camera packed up camera arm in my packand all my calls. I lower my bow , place the camera on the camera mans stand swing a leg onto the climbing sticks and hear a deer heading my way. I jump back on to my stand grab the pull up rope and see a dinky 6 pointer trot in. I wait just a second and think screw it I amgoing to sit longer. No sooner I think this I look from where the 6 came from and there is the wide 8 standing 19 yards away from me. Of course no way to pull the bow up and he goes out the same way the 6 did leaving me no shot.

that first buck is crazy man. that would be an awesome first deer. looks like a small elk.

the wide eight is an awesome deer man. gl getting on him brother. let me know how haley makes out this saturday. text me .

She did real good man thanks for asking.

At first light a yearling doe came out and she passed on it. around 8:45 a spike came out and she also passed him . The brow tine buck was showing every day so we just knew he would show in the afternoon.

Well as hunting goes he never did. She also passed a decent doe at 4PM. I am going to keep her home two day for 6 day. I just checked the camera and he is still hitting it every day.

All in all she did mr proud. She showed she was a hunter and not out there to just kill a deer.
