Chigers huh? I was out last year never had a probelm. Will keep that in mind. I get to my stand at 5:20 a.m. and plan on sitting all day. Thanks

| Good tactics for hunting NJ. Lock your stands... last thing you want to do is get your stand in the dark and it not be there. Shoot the deer so it dies on your property. Be cautious of flying crossbow bolts. (mostly public land) It's legal this year in NJ. Run to your truck after you retrieve your deer. The early season is hot and every delayed second can cost you some venision. Make sure the grunt that is answering your calling is really a buck and not some wingnut in a stand 40yards from yours. No need for a compass here in NJ. A road is in hearing distance to where ever you are. No getting lost in NJ. | |

Nice! I hike back about 2 miles into some public land so don't see to many people near me. The gonnies all hunt 100 yards from their cars. Last year they asked if I had seen anything I told them a few they all complained they saw nothing. On average sit I see between 10 and 40 deer so not bad. Just need big daddy to walk by.

| Find the food source, find the deer for early season. Things change in October but sept I always seem to see nice ones near the food | |

| I think everyone else pretty much said it all! Where we hunt, there are chiggers galore. I won't spray my pants with any bug spray but I do keep a lint roller handy for sure! | |
