| I just inherited two shotguns, the first is a J.C. higgins Model 20-12ga. Sears Roebuck and Co. 583.59. The other is a High Standard Flight King Field Model K-200 (20ga). I have not shot these guns in sometime they were my fathers. i plan to bring them out after 6-day and try them out. They are older guns and i wanted to know if anyone has ever used one. What type of hunting did you do with them. I guess these are fixed chokes thats the reason i ask. (i dont know much about guns). Can i shoot any type of shot out of these IE Slugs and buckshot. Are there any places around that i could trade these in on. I would like to get a gun for upland birds and a slug gun, but dont have the money. I hope these can work for me for now until i save up the money or get may address changed on my FID card.
If anyone wants to help shoot and pattern these guns, that would be appreciated. | |

| mike the guns rom back in the day are standard barrels. no choke's. you shouldnt shoot steel out of them. u can shoot slugs but they have to be smooth bore. not a rifled slug as it would mess the inside of the barrel up. i wouldnt worry about them being old. as long as everything looks to be in good working condition i would shoot them. we shot a single shot 16 gauge for skeet after not being fired for probrably 15 or more yrs. it shot great. keep them oiled and clean. let me know when your going. i do alittle something about guns. | |
