| depending on wich gauge shotgun your using they will try and hand you the wrong shell. never keep your gun pointed in the wrong direction. make sure safety is always on. if they throw an orange and a yellow ( or whatever color) dont shoot. reason being is because the orange clay is an illegal bird. you would feel best not to shoot. its been along time so im sure im forgetting something | |

| I just took my 10 year old for her test. They did not do anything like that for that group. Not saying they will not do it but that day they didn't ( even for adults ). The main thing they want to see is how safe you handle the gun. Treat the wood gun just like a real one when you do the field test.
Remember NJ is all about the money. If you fail they dont get your money so dont worry as long as you pass the written test you will pass unless you point the gun at someone. | |

| Evan, when I took mine it was pretty straight forward. No tricks or anything but ya never know. Like the other guys mentioned above as long as you are safe you will be fine. I think they sent 5 skeet out and as long as you could load/unload/use the safety and shoot the gun in a safe manner you would be fine. Keep the gun faced downrange. Good luck bud. Look forward to smoking a few ducks and geese with ya | |

| For the field section they just handed out wooden guns and then walked you around and you looked at 3D targets told the guy what they were and if it was a safe shot. THEN you used your gun to shoot at three skeet. | |

| Damn, Steve must be 90 years old and took the very first hunters ed test. All we did was walked around with wood guns, shot at 3 clays and took the test. They just wanna make sure you handle a gun properly! They like being able to pass people...that's more money! | |
