sept. 15th report

What a night it was out there. i saw 17 deer in total. climbing up the tree finally to the top. everything still on the ground i have 4 does come in to 20 yards. i get caught by big old granny. she snorts at me like 25 times. finally the loud mouth leaves i bring everything up and settle in. about 45 minutes later i see a nice 8 point. then i catch a 4 point and a mommy with 2 fawns eating acorns just out of my shooting distance. then a smaller doe comes in and is sitting 20 yards but has a nice mommy behind her. mom takes different path and comes from behind me. very skittish. i guess cause the wind was swirling in circles. well she walks past me i draw and she keeps her butt just facing me the whole time. by this time the little one is further out and mom follows her. no shot that time. then at last light i see 4 working there way in. taking forever ,it get darker and darker. finally i got one at about 15 yards. i draw and oops cant see through my peep. i didnt want to risk taking the shot. she comes right below my stand ans start to walk off. then she bolts and goes hanging with the others. i could of shot a button to get my tag but just cant do it.

i didnt get a deer but awesome night on stand. i will be hitting the same area on friday with freddie and scottie. hopefully this time i can make it all happen.

My September 15th report was....let our one property settle down for a little bit, so we hit the farm up. No cameras really there this year, but driving in we have been seeing deer. We get my father setup, then Evan and I go to setup. As we are walking towards where my dad is setup to get to our stands, we kick up a doe 40 yards behind him. So, we turn around and take the long walk to the stand. I get into stand, and 30 minutes later I have 4 does within 25 yards of me. 1 decided to bed down probably 20 yards from my stand. Long story short, I shot one of the big does. She dropped 50 yards from the stand I was in, and only ran maybe 25-30 yards from where I shot her. Clean heart shot!

it was at the bottom in the swamp area on the farm. There was another ladder on the other side about 80 yards away on someone elses property. My guess is it was that person.

yeah it could have been the repeat offender.

BUT there are many other ladders on the property that would have been easier to take.
